Davidic Covenant

The covenant promise to David was a new focal point of the Mosaic covenant. From first to last it was a messianic promise and prophecy. When the apostles and other disciples came to understand the Messiah’s mission and Jesus’ fulfillment of that mission, their lives were changed. Ours will be too when our eyes are lifted from today’s world to the Messiah and the kingdom of heaven. Scripture: Isaiah 42:6; Luke 24:18-21, 27, 31-32; 2 Samuel 7:1–17; Deuteronomy 17:14–20; 1…

Why Evangelism Matters

The greatest need in our church today is an outpouring of the Holy Spirit. On the Day of Pentecost nearly 2000 years ago, the early church received this outpouring and 3000 people came to know Jesus. What’s amazing is that just 50 days before this amazing event, the disciples were arguing about who would be the greatest. Dissension and ego needed to vanish before the Holy Spirit was poured out. Our church today needs to commit to this kind of…

Spiritual Habits

In order to grow and develop, we must learn and sharing our discovery with others. It is the same in Spiritual growth. Spiritual growth happens as we develop “Habits” which are consistently applied to our lives. Habits like… Prayer, Bible Study, Praise, Giving, and Service draw us into deep intimate relationship with Jesus and the Father. As we allow the Holy Spirit to mold these Habits to our character, we grow into the children God desires us to be. Scripture:…

What’s Your Mission Statement?

A mission statement defines what an organization is, why it exists, and its reason for being. So what’s your goal in life? What keeps you up at night? What does your heart beat for? Do you have a mission statement for your life? If so, what is it? Scripture: Acts 1:8 – But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea,…

All Called

So often we the people, leave the work of outreach and evangelism to the paid Pastor, Evangelist, or Bible worker. That however is not Biblical. We tout the “Priesthood” of all believers when it serves our agenda, but when it is time to actually roll up our sleeves and do the work, we make excuses. Sounds a lot like Matthew 22 where those invited made light of the invitation. Join us for a head-on look at the Biblical call to…

Abraham’s Seed Becomes a Nation

The patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, knew God as the God of Promises. Just over 400 years later Israel was reintroduced to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob Who would now fulfill those promises (Ex 2:15; 6:2-7). The seed of Abraham, Israel, had grown large in number over those intervening years and now God would lead that nation out of slavery in Egypt to the promised land (Gen 15:13). There remained yet another unfulfilled promise, that being the making…
